Sacramento User Group: Notices

The Sacramento Area ESRI GIS Users' Group began meeting quarterly again on March 13th, 2008. Skip Campbell is the Coordinator of this group. Skip works for CH2M HILL, and has 17 years of Public and Private sector experience as a GIS Analyst and Project Manager.

September and October are VERY busy months for ESRI software users. ESRI will be releasing version 9.3, and holding several events and training classes. Because of the Sep/Oct 9.3 events I’ve been asked to postpone our next meeting until November or December. I encourage you to attend some of these ESRI events to learn more about the ArcGIS 9.3 release. For the 9.3 event (September 30), please see ESRI Events. Training is available in Oakland and in Sacramento.

In November we have Election Day, Veteran’s Day, GIS Day, and Thanksgiving to avoid; so the next Sac Area ESRI GIS Users group meeting will be: December 9th, 9am – 12pm

CalEPA Headquarters Building
Training Rooms 1 East and West
1001 I Street, Sacramento, CA 95814

(*please note the change in location*)

We have a couple potential speakers that I’m working to confirm for the December date. WE NEED MORE! In addition to presenters, I’m hoping that some users might volunteer to come up and show a couple tips and tricks or workarounds that they have developed. We often hit minor roadblocks using GIS and must come up with a cool (borderline genius) way to get our work done. I’m hoping that a few users might share a workaround. This could really help other users.

Feel free to forward this note on to other interested persons and have them send me their name and email if they’d like to get these announcements.

Skip Campbell, Coordinator
